A4 Delft-Schiedam

2011 – 2015 | Seven kilometres of new highway in a deep cut through the meadowlands between Delft and Rotterdam. The ambition: a highway is not to be seen, heared or smelled from the surroundings. On behalf of ZJA, Michel Heesen was responsible for the preliminary architectural design of the new crossings, a new aquaduct and landscape bridge, a deep cut, tunnel and service buildings, in collaboration with landscape architects BSLA.

Commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat / A4All / ZJA / BSLA
